Ella M. Hill, R.N., L.M.H.C. is a Registered Nurse and Licensed Mental Health
Counselor. She is also a certified Hypnotherapist, Master level NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) practitioner and Master
Reiki practitioner. She has over twenty-five years of counseling and nursing experience and she has helped hundreds of people
achieve happier and more fulfilling lives.
Ella graduated from Seattle University with honors and received the Sister
Mary Ruth Niehoff award as outstanding student. In addition, she is a graduate of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute of Washington
and has completed advanced studies in Hypnotherapy.
Ella opened her counseling practice as EMH Counseling Center in 1988. Prior
to opening her counseling practice, Ella had a diverse range of professional experiences. She developed and coordinated a
drug and alcohol in-patient treatment program for the Veterans Administration in Richmond, Virginia. She worked with emotionally
disturbed children and adolescents at the Seattle Children’s Home and she worked with dysfunctional families in the
community to assess their mental and physical health, providing counseling and developing treatment plans. She helped to set
up health facilities in Appalachia. She also helped to set up hospitals in Saudi Arabia and Iran, equivalent to American standards.
While employed as Assistant Director of Nursing Services for the US Public Health Service in Kotzebue, Alaska, she mediated
conflict between the Eskimo and non-Eskimo staff. She also served as an officer in the Army Nurse Corps for two and a half
years. She has conducted many workshops and seminars on smoking cessation, weight control, stress management and other health
related issues.
Ella has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Africa, the Middle
East and the Far East. Her cross-cultural experience and nursing expertise provide her with unique insights that enhance her
skills as a counselor.
She is a member of the Washington Counselor Association, the American Counselor
Association, the Council of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, the International Medical and Dental Hynotherapist Association,
the American Nurses Association, the Washington Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau (a national honor society of nursing).
She also serves as a volunteer on the board of the Ovarian and Breast Cancer Alliance.
In her spare time, Ella enjoys spending time with her family and friends and
her dog Alex. She also enjoys hiking, biking, tennis, golf, bridge, chess, music, opera and reading...........
